2023 - 2024 After School Registration is Now Open

 

Why AKZ?:

Our After School Program is a constructive alternative to daycare that offers our students a structured environment with options for active sports & games, crafts, and more, facilitated by our caring staff.

$40 registration fee/child to cover after school costs & supplies.

 

We don't have long drawn out contracts that lock you into weeks/months/years at a time but to insure we cover costs we do require notice if your plans for after school to avoid a no-show fee.  See parent handbook for no show policy.

Our Facility

AKZ is committed to supplying a great experience for you and your child. Our facility reflects this commitment, with specific areas for your child's growth. Our two front rooms offer dedicated workspaces, along with access to school supplies. This is also where we do fun things like board games, manipulatives, Science Activities and Arts & Crafts. AKZ has a fully enclosed roller hockey rink offering a safe place to exercise, stretch, play with friends.  We use the same area for indoor games, obstacle courses, sports and team building fun! We also have a volleyball zone, basketball zone, chill zone, & xbox zone; as well as a large fully fenced in back yard area equipped with a GaGa Pit.

Program Details

Each day begins with children being transported to Airpark Kids Zone by our vans/bus or Hanover County bus. As soon as everyone arrives at our facility we break into age appropriate groups.  Your child will then be provided snack. After snack we go into our zone rotations and if anyone has homework we provide them with a quite space to complete their work. 

 

Everyday ends with free time in our arena where your child is able to play with their friends before heading home.

 

On Early Release Days and Teacher Work Days off from school, we add to the fun with arts and crafts, science experiments, movies and more!

Teacher Work Days/Student Holidays

For Full Days off from school we are open from 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. These days are an additional cost.

  • Mon. Nov. 4th - Student Holiday

  • Tues. Nov. 5th - Student Holiday

  • Mon. Jan. 20th  - Student Holiday

Early Release Days

We will pick up children from school and bring back to our facility.

These days are an additional cost.

  • Tues, May 27th - Early Release

  • Wed. May 28th - Early Release

  • Thur. May 29th - Early release 

  • Fri. May 30st - Early release  - Last day of school!

Days we are CLOSED

  • Mon. Sept. 2nd - Labor Day

  • Thurs. Nov. 28th, & Friday, Nov. 29th - Thanksgiving

  • Mon. Dec. 25th - Christmas Day 

  • Mon. Jan 1st - New Years Day

  • Mon. May 26th - Memorial Day

School Camp Weeks

We are open from 7:30 am - 6 pm on all Camp days including Summer Camp.  This weeks are an additional cost and separate registration.

  • Winter Break: Dec. 23rd - Fri. Jan. 3rd - Closed Christmas & New Years Day

  • Spring Break: March 31st - April 4th

Conduct and Disciplinary Actions

We reserve the right to send home any camper/student whose behavior is considered by our staff to be detrimental to the best interests, health, and safety of other students, staff members, or our facility. Students who receive three or more disciplinary reports will automatically go under review, and a decision on their continued attendance will be made.

Late Pick Ups

Our childcare team is scheduled until 6 pm. If you will not be here by 6 pm please text us ahead of time to let us know your emergency. If notice is not given in a reasonable time we charge a late pick up fee of $15. This late fee must be paid before your child is able to resume child care for that week. This escalates after 5 late pick ups. This policy is in place for the safety of the children in our care as our Child Care Team goes home at 6 pm.
